About

The Menstrual Fund strives to provide a variety of free and reusable menstrual products for all Tufts students. Students are able to fill out a form where they can choose from a variety of reusable menstrual products that have various styles, sizes, and levels of protection. Each menstrual product is then delivered to either the Women’s Center or directly to the student’s address. Menstrual products can be anatomy-specific, so it is important for students to have the autonomy to choose what is right for them. Reusable menstrual products can be essential for some folks because in addition to the cost of disposable products, access to sanitary waste bins can be limited, such as in men’s bathrooms.

According to the National Organization for Women Foundation, the average menstruating person will spend up to $20 in menstrual products per cycle for up to 40 years. The financial burden of constantly purchasing menstrual products is enormous, and the amount of waste produced from the packaging of disposable menstrual products alone is 400 pounds per person in one lifetime. Menstrual equity and being environmentally conscious are incredibly important to our community at the Tufts Women’s Center, which is why we are raising money to support students in accessing free reusable menstrual products. Donating $40 gives 1 menstrual product to a student in need!

We need your help to support Tufts’ menstruating population, help reduce waste, and fight for menstrual equity!
