Tufts Women’s Water Polo is a relativly new team, and we are fundraising to create a legacy for the future of this team at Tufts. We are seeking to cover the cost of team water polo suits and to create a financial assistance fund, with your help!
Water polo suits are required for competition by league rules, will help us represent Tufts at tournaments, and build up a sense of community and belonging. We purchased team suits for this season, costing about 80 dollars per suit, which is a significant financial barrier for some players. Team suits will help us represent the Tufts community when we are competing and help foster a sense of team and community among us.
Our weekend tournaments, all out of state, are also a financial barrier due to purchasing food and taking time away from school and work on campus. The Women’s Water Polo Team at Tufts is only a few years old and still building up involvement and community. We hope to eliminate the financial barrier of joining the team, which will encourage more players of varying skill levels to join. This year we have over 20 players on the roster and want to leave a stronger foundation for years to come.
Making sure that every player can comfortably be part of the team is a key component to developing our sense of community and legacy. It is very important to us that our team is a financially inclusive place for every member of the Tufts community who wishes to participate. We do not want anyone to be excluded or left out from feeling like a part of our team because of financial barriers.
