Dr. Walid El-Bermani taught anatomy to thousands of students over 5 decades at TUSM and a small group of generous alumni believe that he is deserving of thanks and especially recognition.
“Dr. El-Bermani made us feel at home in the anatomy lab, even if we were 3,000 miles from home. He made us feel like we were going to become great doctors, even when we felt overwhelmed by our workload. He made us laugh, even when we had to take a difficult final exam later that day.”
- Ron Riesenburger, M.D., A97, M01
The new Michael J. Anatomy Lab opened in 2017, and the Advanced Anatomy Lab – where the more senior students hone their dissection skills and conduct prosections apart from the larger lab alongside faculty like Dr. El-Bermani - is currently unnamed. This group of alumni would like to change this and name it the Dr. Walid El-Bermani Advanced Anatomy Lab.
Here’s where you come in…For $250,000 the space can officially be named in honor of Dr. El-Bermani and good news $200,000 of those dollars have already been pledged by Ron I. Riesenburger, M.D., A97, M01, David C. Liu, M.D., M94, and an anonymous donor - so there is just $50,000 more needed.
Dr. El-Bermani had a huge impact on the education and careers of more than a generation of Tufts doctors and clinicians. Will you join in honoring his TUSM legacy and make a gift to help make the Dr. Walid El-Bermani Advanced Anatomy Lab a reality?
