Internships are awarded in conjunction with the Tufts Career Center internship funding program. Below is a summary of past recipients.

2024

Chandler Bentley worked as a research assistant for the Samsung Watch study at the Center for Anxiety and Traumatic Stress Disorder (CATSD) in Boston, MA. The study’s aim is to test the efficacy of smartwatch sensors in detecting and treating depression.

Randy Hamilton served as a research analyst at Hillman Capital Management in Bethesda, MD, conducting research on companies, producing detailed reports, and presenting findings to the investment committee.

2023

Olivia Volmar worked alongside early intervention clinicians at Eliot Community Services in Malden, MA. After her summer experience, she reflected on "how it truly has taken a village to be where I am today - and I recognize that through opportunities like this grant, I am able to continue to push toward my goals."

2022

Mary Kazibwe interned at The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS) which provides legal representation to those who are accused of committing crimes in Massachusetts and can't retain their own counsel.  

2021

Rodney White spent his summer at Five Sisters Production (FSP), a Los Angeles-based production company; he was a part of FSP’s Half the History Project (HTH) team, dedicated to both creating stories and advocating about the importance of diverse stories in the telling of our history. 

2020

Gloria Revanche was a TV Production Intern for Arlington Community Media (ACMi), a nonprofit that encourages the Arlington neighborhood to be involved in the production of their own television and news programs. 

2019 

Sylvester Bracey worked as a teaching fellow for Breakthrough Greater Boston.

Yasmin Farah monitored newborns in the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program at Boston’s Children’s Hospital.

2018

Z. Ayotola Onipede interned at Immigrant Service Providers Group Health, which connects immigrants with health and community resources. 

Yohanna Georgi spent her summer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

2017 

Ashley Alfonse used her award to support an internship at the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic at Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS).

2016 

Cayla Brown interned for the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services in the Youth Advocacy Division helping attorneys provide legal representation to those who could not afford it.

Andrade Hendricks worked as an intern for New England Biolabs, researching an improvement for biosensor instruments.
